Project to build a house for a destitute family living in the Dambulla area, a man and his three children aged 13, 8 and 3 (at the time) deserted by the mother. The man, Wasantha Ratnayake has no regular job and as a result no steady income. His meagre income is earned from the few crops he can grow with no proper irrigation. He also works as a manual labourer when he can, and often has to keep the oldest child home from school to take care of the toddler while he goes out to work.

I was struck by the predicament of this hapless family with no roof over their heads. The attached photos describe their present dwelling and circumstances beyond my words.
